about
Pumped but respectful edit from a roots reggae song by Al Campbell, full of hope and wise lyrics. Produced by Clement "Coxsone" Dodd and released in 1972 on the mythical label Studio One from Jamaica. The riddim was used by multiple artists, and it may ring a bell when you hear the first notes of the song.
This is a wrapped DJ-friendly edit made with love. Plenty of time in the intro/outro. I remade the bassline and the high-frequency drums. Added slight drums, snares, and hi-hats.
lyrics
Lyrics :
Take a ride, my bredren, take a ride,
Take a ride on a prophetic land,
Take a ride, my bredren, take a ride
Try to see what you can be sad
If you can't get with unity ;
Don't never trust mis-unity,
Try to see something bad is right
Then you will know-o-o-o-o
Never let the selfish get over you !
Don't allowed the deadly fox to capture you !
Won't you try to make a different move,
Just to see what you can prove
Then you'll feel the touch of something new,
And behold-o-o-o-yeah
Never let the selfish get over you !
Don't allowed the deadly fox to capture you !
Won't you try to make a different move,
Just to see what you can prove
Then you'll feel the touch of something new,
And behold-o-o-o-yeah
